The summer heat has finally drawn me out and into the cooler malls, with my room's air conditioning threatening to burst in flames with almost 20 hours of continuous use. Besides, a date with Alex composed of meals, a bit of shopping, and ice cream really sounds inviting. Why on earth I forgot to bring my camera still baffles me, so my Blackberry would have to do for now.
Nutty Crispy Tower - Php 245
We picked Swensen's along Mall of Asia's South Wing, which has surprisingly few customers by mid-morning. The place is extremely cozy, and the people are really accommodating. Alex got himself the Nutty Crispy Tower, which is a tall glass of macadamia mocha almond fudge ice cream layered with chopped nuts, crushed pralines and heavy caramel syrup. The texture pretty much blew me away, and there's no cloying taste even with all that caramel. He was so addicted that I was left to finish the whole Fondue for Two by myself. I didn't say I was complaining, though. :)
Fondue For Two - Php 340
Everything on this plate was gone by the time Alex finished his sundae. I loved how the chocolate isn't too sweet and compliments the ice cream and fruits nicely. The dish was supposed to be for two, but in my own honest opinion, I could finish that plate up by myself anytime. The ice cream was firm so it holds its form without melting when dipped in melted chocolate.
I never really use my phone for taking photos, so I was playing around and couldn't get it to focus on the chocolate. Anyway, I love Swensen's overall service. The ambiance is great, and everything is cute and cozy to the smallest details. Don't you just love the tiny heart candle below?
I'm definitely going back there soon! I'm looking forward to devouring their Chocolate Earthquake. :)
